My tapestry

My niece and nephew turn one soon, within a week of each other. It's a pretty big deal and quite the grand party seems to be in the works. It is Emma's first birthday party for her baby and lets just say I am envious and wish someone would throw me a party like this, buy me a birthday dress like Dagnys, make me a flower crown with butterflies and buy me gold polka dot balloons...To say the least these are lucky little ones, especially with an aunt like me to make them pretty things all the time!

The theme of the party is birds and butterflies for a little boy and girl. They asked me to make their invitation and also to paint them a back drop with birds and butterflies, so I went to town and I really like it!

This is my favorite part

This is actually my least favorite corner and I think it still needs some work but another day...I like the bird :)

In the works!

I am currently painting a tapestry/backdrop for my niece and nephew's first birthday.

Theme: butterfly and birds!

Inspiration...

My challenge...keeping it appropriate for a boy's birthday as well!

Currently.

August seems to always be a very unproductive month in the art world because it is the month leading up to all my little cuties birthdays! It is really exciting because these little nephews and niece of mine have shaped my heart and revealed this utter joy in creating beautiful, cute as can be, shriek worthy children's things... They have opened my eyes to a new passion and once their birthdays are over, I cannot wait to start the production for the rest of the world! So therefor, gears have shifted and it's gifting time (my favorite time). I am working on so many cute things right now, my heart can't handle it. Sadly I cannot share until after their big days. These above are previous gifts for the little cuties.

Here are the little ones who just absolutely inspire my soul and my studio!

Remington, Rocco, Hank...The Perkins boys

Rocco Cash
Rocco, the firstborn, is turning 5 soon and I can't handle him. The sweetest of souls there ever was. He has a heart so big it's in near competition with Jesus'. He loves the ladies in his life beyond all measure. It's as if by holding it in he fears he will explode, he pours out constant expressions of the deepest and most sincere love for you. I got to be with Rocco the first week he was born and the first summer he learned to crawl and walk and he is a treasure in my soul forever.

 Hank Walker.
Wild, rough, but sweetest hank. Hank was the one that truly inspired my onesie obsession and was the recipient of some of the first treasures. Hank has the biggest character of all the Perkins boys and is absolutely comical. He never ceases to make you laugh (unless you are his mama and put up with the other charming qualities of hank) and his mind is like a sponge he is constantly impersonating broadcasters, songs,  and conversations with his friend Michael Bradley. Hank's birthday is in January, which is nice for me because I couldn't handle only creating for these littles once a year.

Remington Grey.
Remi is the youngest by a few days and turns one a day after Rocco's birthday. He is just everything you see in this photo. He is a big, chubby, bundle of joy who smiles constantly and loves his brothers to death. Since he was just the littlest he is cooing and smiling constantly. The chattiest with the greatest expressions. You can sit by Remi all day and just watch him and talk to him and be overwhelmed with love and joy. He also has the greatest name of all time. Remi has inspired one of my funnest patterns so far (which I am obsessed with) so I thank him for that!

Dagny Clementine Bloom.
Oh Dagny. The stealer of hearts, the capturer of souls. There is something so wonderful about Dagny that cannot be explained in words. Maybe its her knowing eyes, her biggest smile, her dainty little body, or that she is the first girl but she is truly so special you become addicted to her. The Perkins boys are all in awe of this little beauty and shower her with love. She is just the prettiest little lady. Dagny turns one so soon. She will be the best little girl in the world.

The gang

These photos are all borrowed from my sisters because I live so far away I don't get to take many. If you love reading about and seeing them as much as I do then you can follow their blogs too! Mary Kate, her boys and life on the beach are here. Emma, her little Dagny, life as a nurse and married to a professional soccer player are here. Their blogs are much more interesting than mine at this point.

To my little ones, happy birthdays coming up and I cannot wait to show you all the things I made you!
